American Horror Story Season Finale: Wednesday Nights Just Got Much Less Scary

Culture

It's been almost a week since I've been scared. It must be time to turn on FX and watch another episode of American Horror Story: Asylum — specifically the season finale, "Madness Ends." Without giving away any spoilers, Johnny (Bloody Face Jr.) is bent on completing his father's work and Lana is leading the charge to close Briarcliff. The sophomore season of AHS has been quite the ride. I haven't completely enjoyed being strapped in for the trip, but thankfully we're finally there. And the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy has promised us a happy ending. He wouldn't lie to us, would he? He wouldn't rip off our arm and eat it like he did to Adam Levine right?

In addition to this promised "happiness" from Murphy, there is going to be a "huge clue" as to what the third season will entail. Keep an eye (and ear) out for something big, in past episodes the jukebox has played "I Put a Spell on You" and "Love Potion #9" — witches, gypies, Hogwarts?! Season three set in Salem during the witch trials could be epic. Jessica Lange as a Puritan casting down curses would be amazing.

Sarah Paulson, one of the show's stars, says its dark and twisted story lines unnerve her too. And hopefully this season will wrap up, and we will all have both arms, both legs, no possession by a demonic force.

Let's just cross our fingers for that happy ending.
