Daniel Day Lewis Wins SAG Award For His Role in 'Lincoln'

Culture

No surprise here. Daniel Day-Lewis took home the SAG Award for his role in Steven Spielberg's Lincoln. The categories nominees were:

Bradley Cooper, Silver Linings Playbook

It was a tough category but at the end of the day Day-Lewis' performance really blew everyone else out of the water.

When he went up to accept his award, Day-Lewis received a standing ovation from the crowd. A crowd full of actors, no less.

In his acceptance speech he said, "it was an actor who murdered Abraham Lincoln. So it's only fitting that every now and then it's only fitting that an actor should bring him back to life."
