Grammys 2013: Winners Predictions

Record of the Year: Gotye - "Somebody that I Used to Know"
The rest of the nominees in this category are up for multiple awards, Gotye is not. So he'll win; this is how things work nowadays.

Album of the Year: Frank Ocean, Channel Orange
Previously, I was suspicious of Frank Ocean's chances of winning, but he seems to be a media darling. His record is universally admired by critics and regular folks alike.

Song of the Year: Carly Rae Jepsen, "Call Me Maybe"
I really don't understand the difference between 'record of the year' and 'song of the year.' However, I do understand that witnessing a Carly Rae acceptance speech would be a once-in-a-lifetime event.

Best New Artist: Fun.

Are any of the nominees actually new artists? No? I saw The Lumineers do a show in Denver a few years ago. Frank Ocean has been on mixtapes since 2010. Fun. is basically the Format but funner. I don't know anything about Alabama Shakes or Hunter Hayes.

Best Dance Recording: Avicii, "Levels"
Yo, I don't even dance, but this song is legit, ya'll.
