Obama's Legislative Reform on Reducing Gun Violence

I don't understand why the 2nd Amendment is so sanctimonious, when amendments such as the freedom of speech, and every other amendment of the constitution have been altered and changed.  These are two common sense reforms that should be made, and hopefully politics will not get in the way of these.
