Winter Storm Q Path: Kansas City To Get 8 To 12 Inches of Snow

Impact

Winter Storm Q is on track to drop upwards of a foot of snow on the Midwest, possibly doing major damage to the region and interrupting services and infrastructure for as many as 30 million people.

Parts of Kansas could recieve as much as 18 inches of snowfall. Kansas State University has already cancelled classes for the day, while Springfield, Missouri could be hit by thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, high wind, and ice.

In the South, parts of Mississippi and Louisiana can expect high winds, severe thunderstorms, and if we're particularly unlucky — tornadoes.
