Impact

The Central Plains and Midwest should brace for heavy snowfall and the South should worry about tornadoes as Winter Storm Q pummels the country, with up to 20 inches of snow expected in some areas.

"We’re encouraging people, if they don’t have to travel, don’t travel," Mark Meints, emergency management director for Gage County, Neb., said at a press conference Tuesday.

The storm dumped as much as 14 inches of snow in some parts of California, and isn't decreasing in intensity as it moves east.

Snowpocalypse? Hardly. Use our interactive map to figure out if Q will destroy your hometown, or leave you unscathed.
