Best Supporting Actor

Breese's Pick: Christoph Waltz for Django Unchained (+130)

Talk about some heavy hitters in this category.  Let's break it down by Oscar wins and nominations:

Robert De Niro (2 wins out of six nominations) (+400)

Tommy Lee Jones (1 win out of three nominations) (+140)

Phillip Seymour Hoffman (1 win out of three nominations) (+1000)

Alan Arkin (1 win out of three nominations) (+4000)

Christoph Waltz (1-for-1 thus far) (+130)

It's hard to argue against any of these performances.  I'm going with Waltz simply for the fact that his "supporting role" was in name only.  He really stole the show in a film loaded with quality performances.  Arkin, De Niro, Hoffman and Jones are all deserving of their nominations, but they weren't quite as memorable in their respective films as Waltz ended up being in Django Unchained. I also get the feeling that the other nominees could have been replaced with other actors without it crippling their films, but Django Unchained would have suffered greatly if another actor tried to handle the King Schultz role.
