Tie at Oscars: Best Sound Editing Results in Tie

Culture

In a rare turn of events there was a tie in the Best Sound Editing category. Both Zero Dark Thirty and Skyfall took home the award. The nominees were:

Erik Aadahl and Ethan Van der Ryn, Argo

In the Oscars if three or less votes seperate the winner and the runner up a tie is declared. This happened only twice in Oscars history. Once in 1968 for Barbra Streisand and Katherine Hepburn for Best Actress and once in 1931/2 when Fredric March and Wallace Beery tied for Best Actor.
