Coastal Carolina University Shooting: Student Anthony Darnell Liddell Killed On Campus Dorm

Coastal Carolina University, in South Carolina, remained locked down Wednesday as police searched for the suspect of shooting and killing a student in a campus dormitory — reported CNN.

The victim was identified as Anthony Darnell Liddell, 19, from Bennettsville. Police were still searching for the suspect, as Liddell died after being taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach. According to school spokesman Doug Bell, the shooting took place at 7:22 p.m. outside the University Place residence hall. And the suspected shooter reportedly left in a vehicle. 

More than 9,000 students attend the Myrtle Beach school — which was founded in 1954 as Coastal Carolina Junior College.
