Rand Paul Tells Obama How He Can End Filibuster

Impact

At 9:15 PM, nine and a half hours into his filibuster, Rand Paul again explained that he would stop talking and allow a vote on the nomination of John Brennan to the post of CIA director. Paul said on the Senate floor that his office is in contact with the White House, and that Paul would end his filibuster if the White House provides a definitive answer on whether it reserves the right to kill U.S. citizens on American soil in targeted killings.

Paul even went so far as to say he would cease speaking, thereby allowing a vote on Brennan's nomination if the White House simply promises to provide this information by morning.
