"Mr. President"

I'll save you from linking to the Marilyn Monroe happy birthday song, but there's something rhetorically interesting that all these senators must refer to the chair as "Mr. President." It reminds us, even unconsciously, of how temporary that title is. In this case, the "president" sitting in the Senate has said almost nothing— something he has in common with the POTUS.
