'The Bachelor' 2013 LIVE: Sean Lowe's Mother Seems Really Nervous

Culture

Is it just me or is Sean Lowe's mom creating a really stressful atmosphere in The Bachelor's finale?!

In the first 20 minutes of the show, she grilled finalists Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter. She seemed to like Yenter more, but after the commercial break, she cried on camera and urged her son to make the right decision. I understand where she's coming from, but as Sean said himself, he doesn't need the added stress of his mom reminding him how big this decision is.

I admire her for being skeptical, even if she didn't exactly warm up to Giudici, who has become my favorite for reasons I can't explain. Probably because they all seem to love Yenter and I have a weird need to always root for the underdog. At any rate, Sean's mom seems more stressed about this than Sean himself.

"My mother believes that if I'm in love with both women, I shouldn't propose to either of them," Sean said on the show.

I mean, in theory that would be true, but this is also The Bachelor, which is just about the farthest thing from reality as it gets. The whole point of the series is that you're supposed to choose who you care for more, as screwed up as it is.
