In the Quarterfinal of the SWAC Tournament, No. 2 seeded Jackson State defeated No. 5 seeded Alabama State 66-59 this afternoon. They face the winner of No. 3 seeded Alcorn State and No. 4 seeded Prarie View A&M from Garland, Texas.
In the Quarterfinal of the Big East Tournament in both of these team's final year before heading to the ACC, No. 5 seeded Syracuse knocked off No. 4 seeded Pittsburgh 62-59 in a classic matchup between these two foes. This sets up the final conference matchup between the Orange and No. 1 seeded Georgetown tomorrow night at 7 p.m.
In the first round of the Big Ten Tournament, No. 5 seeded (and sixth ranked) Michigan knocked off No. 12 seeded Penn State 83-66 from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Wolverines face off against the No. 4 seeded Wisconsin Badgers tomorrow at roughly 2:30 p.m.
No. 5 seeded NC State knocked off No. 12 seeded Virginia Tech in the opening round of the ACC Tournament 80-63. The Wolfpack take on the No. 4 seeded Virginia Cavaliers at 2 p.m. tomorrow.
In the Atlantic 10 Tournament, No. 5 seeded Butler defeated No. 12 seeded Dayton 73-67 as Butler seeks to further solidify their tournament chances. The Bulldogs take on No. 4 La Salle tomorrow at 2:30 p.m.
In the Quarterfinals of the Big 12 Tournament, top-seeded Kansas defeated No. 9 Texas Tech 91-63. They move on to the Semifinals where they take on No. 5 seeded Iowa State in the two team's third match-up of the year. This will definitely be a game to watch as each of their first two meetings were phenomenal games.
In the Quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament, No. 1 seeded UCLA narrowly defeated No. 9 seeded Arizona State 80-75 to advance to the Semifinals where they will face the winner of No. 4 seeded Arizona and No. 5 seeded Colorado from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Also from Las Vegas, this time from the Orleans Arena, No. 3 seeded New Mexico State defeated No. 6 seeded Idaho 65-49. They will face the winner of No. 2 seeded Denver against No. 7 seeded Texas State in the Semifinals.
In the Big West, No. 2 seeded Pacific barely escapes No. 7 seeded UCSB 71-68. UCSB almost thundered back from a 15-point halftime deficit; however, fell just short in the end.
In the second round of the SEC Tournament, No. 5 seeded Tennessee defeated No. 13 seeded Mississippi State 69-53. Tennessee is set to take on No. 4 seeded Alabama tomorrow in Nashville, Tennessee.
Last but not least, in the Quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament, No. 3 UTEP defeated No. 6 Houston 80-69 from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They take on No. 2 seeded Southern Mississippi tomorrow.
