As Arizona's Immigration Law SB 1070 Debated, Do We Actually Need More Immigrants?

As the Supreme Court begins to consider Arizona’s anti-immigration law, now is a time to reflect on the place of immigration in our economy and our society.

Yesterday, the Wall Street Journal showed that immigrants are a driving force behind America’s hottest new companies. This corroborates long-standing, non-partisan evidence that immigration is good for the economy—even the immigration of low-skilled workers. Similarly, it’s beyond a cliché to argue that America is a country founded and enriched by immigrants throughout our history.

Is the real immigration crisis that there isn’t enough of it?
