The murder trial of Jodi Arias resumes Monday. She is charged with murdering her boyfriend Travis Alexander on June 4, 2008. Alexander was found shot in the face and stabbed 29 times. His throat had been slashed. Arias said she was acting in self-defense after Alexander attacked her because Arias had allegedly dropped his camera, which she says sent him into a rage. The defense further claims that Alexander was physically, sexually, and emotionally abusive toward her. Samuels diagnosed her with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Samuels will take questions from the jury, which had more than 100 questions for him. Arizona is one of the few states where the jury is allowed to ask questions of witnesses after direct and cross examinations.

If convicted of first degree murder, Arias could face the death penalty.
