New iPhone Technology Means You Never Have to Charge Your Phone Again

On Monday, Ideation Designs LLC began a Kickstarter campaign for their latest product: the Infinity Cell Kinetic Charger. This groundbreaking technology would replace traditional, plug-in charging methods by using a kinetic charger that uses body movement to generate electricity.

You simply put your iPhone in a case with Infinity Cell Attached. Then, shake your phone 30 minutes and it will have a 20% charge. For a full charge, you would need to shake your phone for three hours. So unless you’ve been practicing with ShakeWeight, this won’t be practical for most people.

However, if you need to make an important call, are stranded on the side of the road, or are on a camping trip with low or dead battery, kinetic energy could be your savior.

And with greater funding, Ideation Designs hopes that it can use the movement from walking or exercising to fully power your phone. They also hope to shrink the size of Infinity Cell, as it is somewhat bulky at the moment.

If this project succeeds, you will never need to plug your phone into a wall again, and laptops and tablets will be permanently cordless.

Ideation Designs is looking to raise $155,000 by June 6, 2013 via Kickstarter. After the first day of fund raising, they have raised $706, so they have a lot of work to do in the next 43 days.

With just $125, you can have an Infinity Cell of your own, compatible with iPhone 4 and 4S. Just don't charge your phone too much, or you might end up looking like this:
