Red Carpet WHCD 2013: Stars Filter In More Than Politicians

As the red carpet coverage continues on CSPAN, which really is only covering other reporters interviewing people. The trend I can't help noticing is the people walking through are more from TV than from Washington's elite. Right now Newt Gingrich is being interviewed in the same screenshot as Private Practice's Kate Walsh. 

Al Roker is currently standing off to the side while Gerard Butler is being photographed. Why are so many celebrities completely unrelated to politics or even political films or television present right now? Maybe Tom Brokaw was right.
