5 Reasons Stephen Colbert is My Favorite Feminist

In honor of Stephen Colbert's birthday on Monday, I wanted to list the top five reasons why he is my favorite feminist. Yes, men can be feminist and yes, Colbert is part of our tribe. Not only is he a comedic genius and wickedly smart, he challenges and exposes the ludicracy of our political system every night on his show. Colbert, thank you for being my favorite feminist and I hope you had a great birthday.

1. Oopsie Daisy Homophobe

Inspired by Brad Paisley's actually racist "Accidental Racist", Colbert invited actor Alan Cumming to help him sing his own version on gay marriage. Equality is so feminist. 

2. 2006 White House Correspondents' Dinner

Is there anything more feminist than sticking it to an old, white, privileged dude? No. 

3. Head Writer Of The Colbert Report, Opus Moreschi, Rides JetBlue

One of the most exciting things that can happen to you -or maybe just me- when traveling during the holidays is meeting one of the reasons why Colbert is a genius. Would you expect to see the head writer of an extremely popular show riding JetBlue with us normal people?! Don't get me wrong, I love JetBlue but it's not really "celebrity material." Whatever that means. Props to Colbert for hiring normal people. Where can I send my resume? 

4. Halts Show to Take Care Of His 91-Year-Old Mother

Breaking all sorts of macho stereotypes by suddenly canceling his show to take care of his mom. I mean, how are you not in love with him already?

5. 2010 Testimony Before Congress On Immigration

I was wrong. There is something more feminist than sticking it to an old, white, privileged dude; sticking it to a group of old, white, privileged dudes.
