Calling All Millennials: Weigh In On Higher Education and Social Justice
Attention, millennials: College graduation is upon us. What do you have to say about it?
PolicyMic is putting together a week of themed content addressing issues of social justice in higher education to take place between 5/19 - 5/25. Last month, I coordinated a similar week of coverage on sexual assault awareness and prevention; Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Claire McCaskill both weighed in, and responded to questions from the PolicyMic community, as did academics, activists, experts, and established media figures ... and, of course, millennials themselves!
I'm looking forward to an equally productive and engaging discussion this month, as folks start to doff their graduation caps and matriculate. From soaring student loan debt, to the debate over affirmative action, to changing gender dynamics on campus, there's a lot to discuss. If you're a millennial working on issues related to higher education, I want your voice in the conversation!
PolicyMic is looking for a variety of short, 500 word op-eds for the site on these and other topics related to higher education and social justice. A number of prominent politicians, celebrities, and activists on this issue will be contributing to the site during the week to discuss engage in direct dialogue with millennial men and women on these topics. If you have ideas for what we should cover, or who we should invite to join the discussion, email or Tweet at me: @sameier12
If you're interested in contributing, please email me (sam@policymic.com) by Thursday, 5/16 at 5 P.M. EST.
