Oklahoma City Tornado Path: Storm Cell Hits Moore, Newcastle

Impact

A devastating tornado rips through southern Oklahoma City today, uprooting homes and leveling entire neighborhoods. The two-mile wide tornado made landfall this afternoon and has caused major devastation in Moore and Newcastle suburbs of Oklahoma City.

The video above from CNN affiliates shows the twister wrecking its way through the area as residents react in shock and horror.

The storm is already recalling memories of the 1999 tornado that killed 150 people and caused $1 billion in damage. However today's storm is likely even bigger since it is assumed to have an F5 categorization, the largest available.

There are over 171,000 people in the path of the storm and warnings have been issued from Texas to Michigan.
