Moore Tornado Death Toll: Oklahoma Officials Update Confirmed Dead to 24
There has been confusion about the the death toll in the aftermath of the Moore tornado. Originally, it had been reported that 91 people were dead, but that number has now been scaled back.
As of Tuesday morning, the medical examiner had confirmed 24 deaths, she said.
On Monday afternoon, Moore was hit by at least an EF-4 tornado that was estimated at over a mile wide.
The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office had initially confirmed that the death toll stood at over 91 dead — 20 of them children, from the Moore Plaza Towers Elementary School tragedy.
