Zimmerman Protests: Protesters Demand Justice in NYC For Trayvon Martin
The protest that began at Union Square Sunday afternoon and progressed into a full fleged march all the way up to Times Square and beyond with a flood of passionate participants standing to show their dissatisfaction with Saturday's verdict.
Some of the chants heard were "Trayvon is dead, Zimmerman is free, that's what we call democracy," and “No justice, no peace,” among others. In Harlem, a group of about 100 demonstrators assembled and chanted “We are all Trayvon Martin!”
The march continued in smaller groups across the city and by the end of the night, a few arrests were made, most of which were for traffic obstructions.
