NAACP Petition: Obama Should Bring a Civil Rights Case Against Zimmerman
Shortly after the verdict was released, the NAACP assembled a petition urging the Justice Department to open up a civil rights case against Zimmerman and so far, it has recieved over 250,000 signatures.
With the evidence it was presented, the jury may have done all it could to make the best decision possible for the Zimmerman case. However, in the eyes of many Americans, the jury's decision failed to bring justice for Martin's family. Since constant unrest is not the answer, it seems that pursuing the civil suit is the best way in which those upset with the verdict can legally and peacfully give the justice system another go.
