"Best Song Ever" YouTube: One Direction's New Video Sets Views Record

The boys of One Direction, a British boy band sensation with a massive fan base, have unofficially broken the record for the most watched music video in a single day. The views rocketed up past the previous record in a 24-hour time period.

As of the time of this writing, the view counter on YouTube read over 10.9 million, which is well over the previous record of 10.7 million held by Miley Cyrus. Miley broke the record a little over one month ago with her much talked about video for her comeback single "We Can't Stop." While Vevo has yet to announce the news, fans already have begun celebrating on Twitter.

The "Best Song Ever" video promotes the band's upcoming 3-D film "This Is Us," in theaters on August 30th.
