This Gay Sailor's Surprise Proposal at a Naval Base Will Give You the Warm Fuzzies

Culture

Almost exactly two years after the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell, and after spending almost half a year apart, these two gay men had a lot to celebrate. When Machinist's Mate 2nd Class Jerrel Revels set foot on land, he had a burning question for his partner. Upon seconds of arriving at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton, Connecticut, Revels got down on one knee and asked asked his boyfriend Dylan Kirchner to marry him. Spoiler alert: He said yes!

According to Millitary News, Kirchner had no idea this was coming. "It kind of tickled my mind every now and then that he would propose but I never expected this," Kirchner said.

Although the two men were surrounded by more than 200 friends and relatives, "I didn't really care everybody was around. It felt just like the two of us," Kirchner told reporters.

The happy couple hasn't set a date for the wedding yet, but am I the only one who can't wait to see what their reception will look like? Pictures please!
