Watch This Georgia Tech Sophomore Deliver the Best Speech Ever
Many of us have probably had to sit through the droll staff and student speeches at graduation ceremonies (either our own or a relative’s), tapping our tired feet impatiently, some of us still tired from keeping late hours in order to turn in that last ever paper for our Senior Seminar class, and all the while wondering when we can just toss our hats up in the air and start calling ourselves alumnae. This Sunday, the incoming freshman class at Georgia Tech got quite the surprise when they attended their convocation ceremony. Sophomore Nick Selby stood on stage proudly staring out at the audience as the theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey starting playing behind him.
His voice raising out over the crowd, Selby begins pounding his chest enthusiastically as he praises Georgia Tech’s tradition of excellence, shouting, “If you want to build the Iron Man suit, you’re at Georgia Tech! You can do that! If you want to play theme music during your convocation speech like a badass? We’re at Georgia Tech! We can do that! I am doing that!”
