Someone Tried to Stick Up An Iraq War Vet, Watch What Happened Next
What happens when a thief makes his way into a convenience store and attempts to rob it with a store clerk inside who just so happens to have worked as a private investigator, prison guard, and veteran? Things do not go as smoothly as hoped for, as this would-be thief found out last Saturday in Marionville, Mo.
Jon Lewis Alexander, the 54-year-old store clerk and who is a certified hero, has served four tours of duty in Iraq as part of his 30-year career in the armed services. Given his past experiences, this thief likely posed a small challenge to Alexander. The video certainly corroborates this.
As demonstrated in the video, the thief drew attention to himself by smoking a cigarette. When asked to put the cigarette out, he proceeded to reach for his handgun and shout, "All the ... money!"
What comes next is the stuff of legends. Calm and collected, Alexander throws the thief's hand down like it's nothing and draws his own weapon, turning the tables completely in a short matter of time. Alexander then threatens to "blow his ... head off." Scared, the thief bolted for the door. No one got hurt, and no bullets were fired.
After the incident Alexander said, "One of the policemen told me later, 'You're a lucky man.' "I said, 'I think [the robber] is a little luckier than I am.'" Not wanting to scare his wife, Alexander did not immediately tell her. But as one would imagine, as the video circulated around town, and she eventually saw it. "It took her a while to calm down," he said. "But I got all kinds of lovin' when she came home."
Somebody get this guy a medal and a TV special.
