Navy Yard Shooting: At Least 6 Schools on Lockdown

At least six schools were on lock-down as a precaution after shooting was reported in the Washington DC Navy Yard, the Washington DC Public Schools said in a Twitter post.

According to the district Twitter account the area schools on lock-down include Amidon-Bowen, Eliot-Hine, John Tyler Elementary, Eastern High School, Brent Elementary, Jefferson Academy and Van Ness administration building. 

Washington DC Reagan National airport was initially reporting closures, but according to the Washington Post, airport spokesman Rob Yingling said flight operations returned to normal at Reagan National just after 10 am.
