Ashley Judd Puffy-Face Letter Shows How the Media Destroys Women

Impact

Ashley Judd is 43 years-old, kind, talented, accomplished and smart. The celebutard media went crazy last month over pictures of Ashley with "pillow face." Media coverage and commentary about women is dehumanizing, ugly, and destructive, and it won't stop until women and men alike stop going along with it.

Ashley struck back at her critics with a fantastic essay in The Daily Beast. According to Ashley, media commentary regarding women is almost universally about external appearance. She says that the media minimizes and mutes women's voices, personhood, potential, and accomplishments. She is 100% right. Ashley has accomplished a great deal for the rights of women, children, and the environment through extensive charitable activities, but to the catty, cruel, and shallow, none of that matters.

At first, celebrity media mavens wondered if she had a puffy face due to cosmetic fillers, but soon decided that Ashley had grown fat and had cosmetic surgery. One pundit even added that Ashley had become a "pig" and a "cow," and ran the risk of losing her husband, race car driver Dario Franchitti. In response, Ashley noted that she'd gone from a size 2/4 to size 8. As we all know, size 8 is morbidly obese and no man would ever desire a female of that large girth. As to the "pillow face," Ashley had been ill and was taking steroids, known to cause facial swelling.

According to Ashley, a thoughtful and talented writer: "Patriarchy is a system in which both women and men participate. It privileges, inter alia, the interests of boys and men over the bodily integrity, autonomy, and dignity of girls and women."

When enlightened self-interest is considered, I'm not sure that the interests of boys and men are doing all that well in today's environment. Weak, demoralized, and sad women and girls obsessed with their appearance and suffering from low self-esteem are not fun partners.

In public affairs and business, it's time females stop assisting males to attack female rivals based on appearance or falsehoods. Above all, life shouldn't be like this.

These obsessions with appearance and dehumanization waste so much time and talent, cause so much unhappiness, and are just so pointless.
