Using Students to Educate, Empower, and Enroll Their Local Communities

Impact

Students have powerful voices. Setting aside political affiliations, there is an opportunity for students to collaborate and create a palpable impact by improving the rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Accordingly, the White House should support an initiative that encourages university students to achieve the "3 E's:" to educate, empower, and enroll individuals within their communities.

Groups will work to ensure that Millennials are well informed about their respective state exchanges and are able to successfully enroll.

These student groups will receive training and certification, as mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Students could be offered course credit for participating in the training in addition to a semester’s worth of involvement.

Throughout the nation, there are passionate students with the ability to inspire their peers. It is time to use them.
