Let us buy low cost high-deductible policies with no mandatory coverages!

We need health insurance, not pre-paid health care. Mandatory coverage for predictable health care expenses like pregnancy, birth control pills, mental health, annual physicals, immunizations, etc., do nothing but confuse people, and turn the health insurance market upside down and inside out. Let us insure ourselves againt health catastrophes, like cancer and heart attacks and rare diseases, just as we insure ourselves against automobile accidents and house fires.

And either let us pay with 100% pre-tax dollars, or (better) don't let anybody pay with pre-tax dollars. That mistake is the biggest health care mistake the government has ever made - undo it!
