Golden Globes Winners 2014: Best Director Goes to Alfonso Cuaron

Golden Globes Winners 2014: Best Director Goes to Alfonso Cuaron

One of the top honors of the night and it goes to Alfonso Cuaron.

The Best Director nominees were:

Alfonso Cuaron, Gravity
Paul Greengrass, Captain Phillips
Steve McQueen, 12 Years a Slave
Alexander Payne, Nebraska
David O. Russell, American Hustle

Last year the prize famously went to Ben Affleck who was then snubbed by the Academy in the same category.

Cuaron was charming and gracious and relayed a tale of telling Sandra Bullock he was going to give her an "ear piece" and Bullock thinking (due to his accent) that he was saying "herpes." Win.
