YouTube Obama State Of the Union 2014: Watch the Full Speech

Tuesday night will be a critical moment for the Obama presidency and progressives.

Highlighted in the president's speech will be issues of economic fairness and income inequality, immigration, and environmental protection. Expect the president to offer policy solutions that generally make progressives giddy and disappoint conservatives, but also keep an eye out for the rare olive branch, especially around immigration.

Obama's approval ratings are at a low after a bruising fight over Obamacare in which the president made one misstep after another. He'll be looking to reclaim control over the direction and tenor in Washington as he leads his party into the 2014 midterms.

With the next big presidential election around the corner, Obama only has so much more time for his agenda to see daylight.
