Where is the Super Bowl 2014?

Culture

Super Bowl XLVIII will be played in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Though it's located in New Jersey, MetLife Stadium is home to the New York Giants and New York Jets, two teams in different conferences that share the space. And yes, neither of those teams are in the Super Bowl, but that doesn't matter. The game's setting is picked years in advance, making the teams playing is irrelevant to the decisions.

Built in 2010, MetLife sits adjacent to Giants Stadium which houses the Giants from '76 to '09 and the Jets from '64 to '10. This year's Super Bowl marks the first time the game is being played in a non-domed stadium in a cold weather city, but according to recent forecasts, the weather isn't expected to be too bad. Although there's definitely something exciting about hosting the game in New York City, transportation has already been an issue. There's also a bunch of other stuff people need to watch our for — all of it catalogued above by Jimmy Fallon.
