Every year, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences takes a moment during the Emmys to pay tribute to deceased actors, directors and other industry fixtures from the previous year. 2014 was a year full of losses, including Ann B. David, Don Pardo, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sid Caeser and Mickey Rooney among them.

But the Academy carved out a separate tribute for Robin Williams, who took his own life earlier in August. His longtime friend Billy Crystal delivered his industry eulogy, closing with a sentiment that captures how millions of people felt about the beloved comedian: "Robin Williams, what a concept!"
