Don Schumacher III

I moved to New York City in October for personal and professional reasons. It's always been a dream of mine to live here, to work in publishing, and to generally pursue my passions--all of which I am doing. I learned, growing up, that you only have a small window during which you can chase after your dreams--so I'm not putting any of them on hold. Before I made the move out here, I worked for the Clinton Foundation’s job creation event--CGI America--in Chicago. It was wonderful and fulfilling; given the opportunity, I would absolutely repeat that experience. Before I began my career, I graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in English Literature in December 2010. I’ve always loved writing. It is my passion. I try to write journals, and some fiction, daily. I am looking to figure out how I can best apply those skills to our world—which seems to be increasingly driven by social media. That observation led me to join PolicyMic. I can't wait to become a part of the ongoing conversation.
