Lachlan Markay is an investigative reporter in the Center for Media & Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation. He works to advance The Heritage Foundation’s policy solutions by breaking hard-hitting investigative news stories as a reporter for the think tank’s Center for Media and Public Policy. Much of his work can be found at Scribe, launched in June 2011 as sister site to The Foundry, Heritage’s rapid-response policy blog. Markay worked for Dialog New Media for two years as a client services associate before joining Heritage in 2011. He also was a contributing editor for NewsBusters.org, the media watchdog site, and posted to the Washington Examiner’s “Opinion Zone” blog. Markay was born in New York City and grew up in Rhinebeck, N.Y. He received a bachelor’s degree in government from Hamilton College in Clinton, N.Y., where he helped launch the student newspaper Dexter, an alternative weekly.
