Matthew is a graduate of the departments of Middle Eastern and North African Studies and Political Science at the University of Michigan. He has lived in Egypt and Morocco. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD in Political Science at the University of Houston, concentrating in political violence in the Arab World and quantitative analysis.
