It can be easy to accidentally slip up when it comes to safety at home. But luckily, a few tips from the pros can help with some of those little-known hazards. Engineers have offered some tips to optimize your space, and they’re sharing their insight below. Best of all, these tips are all easier to apply than you might think.
1. Mistake: Overloading electrical outlets
Solution: Investing in a high-quality surge protector
"Plugging in too many devices can increase the risk of electrical fires,” says Robin Luo, electrical engineer and founder of ICRFQ/Rantle East Electronic. “The solution is simple — use a high-quality surge protector.” This one has 12 AC outlets, so you can plug in all your devices at once. 11. Mistake: Failing to secure heavy furniture
