Being “normal” is overrated, which is why I like to channel my inner oddball and buy weird stuff every now and then. And by “weird stuff,” I mean “weird things that are actually dope as hell” — like Bluetooth headphones for sleeping or a windproof lighter. With this M.O. in mind, I’ve scoured Amazon for all the weird, new things they have to offer. Though if you want to experience just how delightfully odd these things are, you’ll just have to add a few to your cart and find out.

01A collapsible laundry basket with *thousands* of positive reviews

Ditch that bulky plastic laundry basket in favor of this collapsible one. Not only can you squeeze the sides inward so that it’s easy to dump clothes directly into your washer, but it also folds down to a fraction of its size to help you save space when not in use. “Love how easy it makes getting laundry out if the dryer!” raved one reviewer. “No more multiple bends to get the tiny socks or random shirt out.”

02This bamboo side table that clips onto your sofa’s arm rest

If you don’t have space for a coffee table in your living room — or want things in closer reach — try out this side table. A strong clamp on the bottom lets you attach it to your sofa’s arm rest so that all your drinks, snacks, and more are conveniently within reach. Choose from six different finishes.

03A reusable water bottle that lets you tote 2 drinks at the same time

If you can’t decide whether you’re in the mood for tea or water, it’s not a problem when you have this reusable bottle. A divider running down the center lets you fill it up with two different drinks at the same time — and the leakproof lid even helps protect your bag from spills. Choose from five colors.

04This easy-to-install drawer that adds storage to desks

If your desk doesn’t have enough storage space, consider taking a look at this drawer. Installation is a total breeze, as it comes with strong, double-sided adhesive that can support up to 3 pounds. Though if you’d prefer a more permanent installation, you’ll also receive a set of screws with every order.

05The magnetic running pouch that won’t bounce around

Few things are as annoying as your running belt bouncing all over the place when you’re out for a jog — and that’s where this pouch comes in. Strong magnets on the inside keep it sitting securely against your hip, so there’s no need to worry about it bouncing around. Plus, the water-resistant inner pocket helps keep your valuables safe should you get caught in the rain.

06These horizontal glasses that let you watch television while lying down

Some days even sitting up is a tall order, which is only part of the reason why I’m a fan of these glasses. The angled lenses let you watch television or read while lying flat in bed — no need to sit up. Plus, many reviewers with neck pain commented on how being able to remain lying flat helped alleviate soreness.

07The magnetic spice jars that help you save space

If your kitchen is on the smaller side, consider opting for these magnetic spice jars over a bulky spice rack. You can attach them to your fridge to help save space — and the transparent lids make it easy to see which spice is inside each one at a simple glance.

08A rechargeable lighter that won’t go out in the wind

Rather than waste money buying yet another disposable lighter, consider upgrading to this rechargeable version. Instead of flame, it produces an electronic plasma arc that won’t extinguish on windy days — and you can even use it up to 300 times before it needs to be recharged.

09The sleek smartphone stand made from real wood

Whether you’re chatting on FaceTime or watching videos, this stand can let you do so without having to hold up your phone. It’s made from real wood — not plastic — and the support in the back is angled low enough that you can place your phone on it horizontally as well as vertically.

10The watering stakes that look like cute mushrooms

If you’re planning on going out of town for a few days — or often forget to water — grab these watering stakes to make sure your plants stay hydrated. They’re made from durable terracotta clay, with cute mushrooms at the top so they add a fun decor element when pressed down into your pots. Plus, each one can hold enough water to keep your plants hydrated for up to five days.

11The remote control caddy that sticks to the wall

If your television remotes have a way of hiding, that’s no longer an issue when you have this caddy. It mounts to your wall using double-sided adhesive (which comes included) so there’s no need for any drilling. Plus, the roomy interior is large enough to hold up to four remotes depending on their size.

12These silicone tea bag holders shaped like adorable snails

Don’t lose that tea bag string inside your mug — instead, let one of these adorable little snails hold onto it for you. They hook onto the side of your mug so that the tea bag string is always conveniently within reach. And since they’re made from tough silicone, you can wash and reuse them multiple times.

13This salad dressing container that helps keep the ingredients mixed

Not only is this container great for serving homemade salad dressing, but the bi-directional blade on the inside also lets you mix up the ingredients — just in case they’ve separated while sitting in the fridge. On top of that, the lid is also leakproof as well as airtight, helping keep your dressing fresh until you’re ready to use it.

14These airtight “wine condoms” that help you save open bottles for later

You don’t have to finish that entire bottle of wine in one sitting — just use one of these condoms to save it for later. They create an leakproof and airtight seal over the top of your bottles to help keep your wine tasting fresh. Plus, you can wash and reuse them multiple times.

15A quirky egg separator that lets your hands stay clean

You don’t have to get your hands dirty when pulling egg yolks from whites — just use this separator. Simply squeeze the middle, place the open mouth overtop of the yolk, then release. The suction will draw the yolk upwards into the fish, separating it from the whites while keeping your hands clean.

16These cut-resistant gloves that help protect you from nicks

Whether you’re tackling a DIY project or cooking in the kitchen, these cut-resistant gloves can help protect your hands from accidental nicks. They’re breathable and flexible, making it easy to tackle a variety of tasks without having to worry about growing too sweaty — and the nonslip coating helps you keep a firm grip on whatever you’re handling.

Don’t waste a paper towel when you need somewhere to place that dirty utensil — instead, grab this ravioli spoon rest. It’s made from stain-resistant silicone that easily rinses clean when dirty. Plus, the extra-large size makes it suitable for use with utensils both big and small.

18This pack of drink covers that can keep you protected from both insects & strangers

While the main purpose of these drink scrunchies is to keep your drink safe from strangers with poor intentions, they can also be a great accessory for outdoor parties and gatherings. Not only will it help distinguish your drink from others, but it’ll help shield out pesky bugs that might want to sample what’s inside. They arrive in a two-pack, which is great for a busy weekend, but can also be bought in quantities up to 20.

19These rustic wall hooks made from black walnut wood

If you need somewhere to hang up your coats, bags, or hats, these wall hooks are a stylish option. Each one can hold up to 35 pounds, making them suitable for even a stuffed backpack. They’re made from real black walnut wood — not plastic — and installation is made simple with the included screws and ancors.

It’s almost too easy for stacks of clothes to fall into each other. That’s where these dividers come in handy. Not only do they prevent your stacks from bleeding into each other, but they’re also made from transparent acrylic, making it easy to see each individual stack at a simple glance. Plus, the clips on the bottom let you slide them right onto your shelves — no need for any tools.

21These Bluetooth headband that you can comfortably wear to bed

It’s hard to stay comfortable when wearing earbuds or bulky over-the-ear headphones to bed — but that’s where this Bluetooth headband comes in handy. The ultra-slim speakers won’t put pressure on your ears if you decide to sleep on your side, and the battery even lasts for up to 14 hours before it needs to be recharged. You can also pull the fabric band down over your eyes to help block out light.

22An aerator that can help improve the flavor of cheap wine

Pop this aerator into a bottle of any wine (even the cheap stuff), and it can help improve the flavor as it pours through into your glass. The rubber base creates a tight seal, eliminating the chance of any drips dirtying up your counters, and the tapered tip delivers a smooth pour. Choose from three colors: noir, chardonnay, or rosé.

23The peanut butter knife that helps you scrape the jar clean

Don’t throw out that jar of peanut butter until you’ve scraped the inside clean using this knife. The rounded tip helps you reach into that awkwardly curved part down at the bottom of the jar — and since it’s made from tough steel, you can rest assured that it’s just as durable as it is useful.

Don’t stumble your way down dark hallways — instead, let this adorable night light help guide your way. 26This earbud wrap that helps keep your wires tangle-free

A tangled mess of earbuds is annoying and can also lead to damage, making this wrap a smart investment. Not only is it made from soft silicone that won’t damage your wires, but the button closure also helps keep your earbud wires from unwinding themselves. “Genius!! So easy to pack and store my corded earbuds,” wrote one reviewer.

27The laundry detergent holder that helps contain drips

Laundry detergent bottles have a way of dripping all over. That’s where this holder comes in handy. A ledge in the front helps contain any stray drips while also giving you somewhere to store the detergent cup. And since it holds your bottle at an angle, soap will always be sitting at the spigot so that it’s easy to pour.

28These ceiling fan pulls that tell you which one is for the light versus the fan

Unlike the plain pulls that may be hanging from your ceiling fan at the moment, these ones feature a light bulb and fan at the end, making it easy to tell which one you’re pulling. The chains are made from sturdy metal — and the glass “bulbs” are frosted for an upscale look. Choose from two lengths: 12 or 24 inches.

31The oven rack shields made from heavy-duty silicone

Don’t risk burning yourself when reaching into a hot oven — instead, put these shields on your oven racks. And if your oven is on the smaller side, you can trim them to fit as needed.

32A smart bulb that works with Alexa & Google Home (or its own app)

Consider this smart bulb one of the easiest, cheapest home upgrades you’ll ever make. It’s compatible with Alexa as well as Google Home — and once paired with either one, you’ll be able to adjust its settings using simple voice commands. Though if you don’t have either, you can also use the downloadable smartphone app to adjust its color and brightness, as well as put it on schedules so that it’s on when you come home.

Coffee, tea, hot chocolate — this heated coaster is great for keeping all sorts of hot drinks deliciously toasty. An extra-long power cable makes it easy to use with distant outlets. And since the surface is water-resistant, there’s no need to worry about it short circuiting in the event of a spill.

36The ice cube tray that freezes water into large skulls

Small ice cubes melt faster, diluting your drink and ruining its flavor — which is only part of the reason why I’m a fan of this ice tray. Not only does it create large ice cubes that melt more slowly, but it also shapes them into frozen skulls that are sure to please guests during happy hour. “These are perfect to add some curiosity to any drink when we have a social gathering,” wrote one reviewer. “Great conversation piece.”

37An angry mama that takes the work out of cleaning your microwave

Fill this angry mama up with water and vinegar, then let her spin in the microwave for about seven minutes. Steam will erupt out of her head, helping loosen up all the baked-on crud stuck to the walls inside your microwave so that it’s easy to wipe out with a damp rag. “I used this once and was able to wipe out my microwave in under a minute,” wrote one reviewer. “Highly recommend!”

38This magnetic key holder shaped like a cute little cloud

Plus, you can even expand them from 10 inches out to 15 inches, making them suitable for vents of nearly any size.

43A stainless steel bar that helps eliminate odors from skin

Garlic, fish, onions — this stainless steel bar can eliminate all sorts of unwanted odors from skin. You can use it with or without water, as the molecules in the stainless steel bind with the odor molecules on your hands, helping absorb them so that you’re left completely unscented. And since it’s made from stainless steel, there’s no need to worry about it rusting over time.
