'Overwatch' Orisa Trailer: New character created by Efi officially revealed in video tease

Impact

After several teases involving a genius 11-year-old inventor from Numbani named Efi Oladele, Blizzard has finally revealed the newest Overwatch character.

Meet Orisa, a new tank hero who's playable on the public test realm right now.

Alongside this new trailer, Blizzard also posted Orisa's official character page, which details all of her abilities. Here's Blizzard's description, per the PTR patch notes:

Orisa is the sixth tank to join the Overwatch lineup, and much like her programming, her gameplay is engineered around protection. Her main weapon is a rapid-fire Fusion Driver, an automatic gun with good range and accuracy even at a distance — though it comes at a cost. Orisa's movement slows down while she fires and players will need to plan for a lengthy reload time. Her alternate fire, Halt!, launches a graviton charge across the map, slowing nearby enemies as it passes, then pulling them toward it when it detonates.

New Overwatch hero: Orisa gameplay

Here's the good stuff: Gameplay footage. It looks like Orisa will be a good alternative to Reinhardt when she deploys her mobile shield ability. Unlike Reinhardt's, her ability isn't mobile — but it should be a really effective tool for holding choke points on defense.

There's also a brand-new developer update video in which director Jeff Kaplan explains Orisa's backstory. It's embedded below:

Here's a video that goes over all of Orisa's unlockable cosmetics. Be sure to check out her legendary skins, two of which make her look like a badass spiky beetle.

Orisa will likely be on the PTR for a week or two before making her debut in the live version of Overwatch for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
