Nikki Haley says Trump believes "climate is changing" and "pollutants are part of the equation"

Impact

In an interview with CNN's Jake Tapper, Nikki Haley fell short of saying that Donald Trump believes climate change is manmade but did say Trump believes that pollution plays a part in Earth's changing climate.

Though she did not say he believes in climate change, Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, did say Trump believes the "climate is changing."

"President Trump believes the climate is changing," Haley said to Tapper. "And he believes that pollutants are part of the equation."

Haley made this statement in response to Tapper bringing up Trump's repeated claims that climate change is a Chinese hoax. (Trump also has a lengthy history of denying climate change because it's cold outside.)

Haley's comments come only two days after Trump withdrew the United States from the Paris accord, an international climate agreement between almost every country to reduce carbon emissions and stem the heating of the Earth's atmosphere.

His decision drew the ire of the international community, especially French President Emmanuel Macron, who immediately tweeted "Make our planet great again."
