How it works
The Litter-Robot makes cleaning your cats’ litter box a breeze with its simple three-step process: clump, cycle, and clean. After your cat finishes their business, the litter clumps together. Then, the globe rotates, separating the clumps from the clean litter. Finally, the clumps are deposited into a waste drawer below, leaving a fresh bed of litter for your cat.
The best part? You only need one unit per household because it’s designed for multiple cats. This design includes a large opening to ensure maximum comfort for up to four cats of different breeds and sizes.
To use the Litter-Robot, all you have to bring to the table is clumping litter. The company suggests a clay-based clumping litter or silica gel litter beads or crystals that can pass through the screen while sifting. You also don't need special bags or liners for the waste drawer — any that fit will do, including 10- to 13-gallon kitchen garbage bags or large plastic grocery bags. If you prefer, you can buy custom-fit liners from the brand.
Powering the Litter-Robot is as simple as plugging it into a wall socket. You can also purchase a backup battery kit that gives you 24 to 48 hours of power reserve in case of an outage.
Odor control
More cats can equal more litter box smells. Helpfully, Litter-Robot reduces odors by storing dirty litter in a sealed drawer — but you can also take odor control up a notch with the optional OdorTrap packs. Using a blend of natural plant oils, these packets fit inside a filter pocket on the Litter-Robot 4 and work to neutralize waste smells. One pack will help keep your home free from pet odors for about two weeks.
The Whisker app
The Litter-Robot can be managed with the Whisker app, which lets you create profiles for each cat and easily track their bathroom habits and weight from your phone.
You can also receive notifications when it's time to empty the waste drawer and get real-time status updates on the litter box to make sure it’s working properly even when you’re not home.
